Hyderabad to host ISDE India Edition 2026 at Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital

Hyderabad, April 8: For the first time in India, the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) India Edition 2026 will be hosted by Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI), Hyderabad, on April 10 and 11, 2026, at The Westin, Hitech City.

The event marks a significant milestone for India’s oncology community and highlights BIACH&RI’s role as a trusted institution in cancer care and research.

The two-day scientific programme will feature international faculty from seven countries along with leading Indian experts, who will present the latest advances in esophageal cancer treatment and research.

Eminent international experts participating include Prof. Lorenzo Ferri (Canada), Dr. Ken Kato (Japan), Dr. Hiroyuki Daiko (Japan), Dr. Edward Cheong (Singapore), Dr. Cuong Duong (Australia), and Dr. Steven Lin (USA). Leading Indian oncologists including Dr. T. Subramanyeswara Rao, Medical Director of BIACH&RI, President of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), and President-Elect of the Global Forum of Cancer Surgeons, and Dr. C.S. Pramesh, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, will also participate.

The conference also coincides with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of BIACH&RI, marking 25 years of excellence in cancer care, research, and academics.

On the occasion,  Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman and Managing Trustee of NBTRMCF, said, “Medicine is not just a science—it is a commitment. ISDE India Edition 2026 reflects our commitment to bringing the world’s finest knowledge to our people.”

Dr. T. Subramanyeswara Rao stated, “Hosting ISDE in India is more than an honour—it is a declaration that India is ready to lead the global fight against cancer.”

As part of the conference, an interaction between international faculty, organising leadership, and the media will be held on April 10 at 2:30 PM. The formal inauguration of the conference is scheduled for 6:30 PM the same day in the presence of ISDE leadership, distinguished faculty, and BIACH&RI trustees led by Chairman Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna.

ISDE India Edition 2026 is expected to strengthen India’s position in the global fight against esophageal cancer. By bringing world-class expertise to Hyderabad, the conference aims to ensure that Indian patients and medical practitioners benefit from the latest scientific advancements and multidisciplinary treatment approaches.
