Farmers income should double by 2022: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a target to the nation to double the income of farmers in the country by 2022. He has taken this pledge to increase the economic conditions of farmers in the country. He has ordered the officials of the agricultural and farmers welfare ministry to develop schemes which will help in increasing the farm output. To make this happen, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) have organised pledge taking ceremonies in 562 districts from August 18 to September 11, 2017. They were an overwhelming response to this call as more than 47,000 farmers and others participated in it. Cabinet Minister Radha Mohan, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, state level ministers, MPs, MLAs and district level panchayath raj members have participated in this pledge taking ceremony which happened across 562 districts in the country.
