‘Digital India’ – a tool to fight middlemen & curb corruption: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed Digital India initiative as an effective instrument in a decisive war against corruption and touts.
Interacting with beneficiaries of Digital India via the namo app, Prime Minister said that Digital India was launched with a simple focus to ensure more people can benefit from the joys of technology, especially in rural areas.
He also underlined the importance of increased use of home grown Rupay card and appealed to everyone to adopt it for digital transactions.
Prime Minister Narednra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the various Digital India programs via the namo app. He told the beneficiaries that the initiative has brought in a huge change in the social order.
He said that government launched Digital India with a very simple focus – to ensure more people can benefit from the joys of technology, especially in rural areas.
Prime Minister made a pertinent point when he said that the digital India is a war against corruption and culture of commission and middle men in getting the work done.
He further warned them that many people with vested interests are spreading false rumours and canards about the efficiency of Digital India.
He said that the National knowledge network, which connects 1700 research and educational institutions, is a high speed Gigabite network and provides a strong support to Digital India.
He also said that the common service centres are providing facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
