General Budget on 1st February 2017

Cabinet committee on Parliamentary affairs decides to advance the dates of budget session to 31 January; General Budget to be presented on 1st February ; Breaking 92 year old convention rail budget merged with general budget.

The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) met on Tuesday and recommended first part of the budget session dates to the President.

Budget session of the Parliament is to start from 31st January and the general budghet will be tabled on 1st February, 2017.

On 31st January, the President Pranab Mukherjee will be addressing the joint sitting of both the houses. The first part of the budget session will end on 9th February. This is the first time that the budget will have both components, rail as well as general budget into one document.
