Lok Sabha Polls 2019: Campaigning intensifies for 6th phase
Campaigning for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections has reached its peak as it comes to a close on Friday evening; 59 constituencies, spread over 7 states, will go to the polls in this phase on Sunday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Bankura in West Bengal. Hitting out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Prime Minister said that she is afraid of losing power in the state. Prime Minister slammed her for using abusive language against him. He said that TMC’s anti-democratic ways have angered people.
PM’S next stop was Purulia in West Bengal, where he addressed another public rally. PM accused Mamata of being hand in glove with the chit fund scam accused.
Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed an election rally in Bhopal in support of party’s candidate Sadhvi Pragya who is pitted against former chief minister Digvijaya Singh. Bhopal goes to polls on May 12.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed public rally at Sirsa in Haryana. Talking about proposed Nyay scheme which has been promised in the Lok Sabha manifesto of Congress, he said the scheme will minimize the income disparities.
Congress has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Briefing the media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Pawan Khera said that such statements are unacceptable. Khera claimed that the common people will give a befitting reply to BJP in this general election.
Union Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari has said that the government’s policies and work done by it for the country’s development is the main election plank of the BJP and should be the core issue in the general election. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, he said that the Prime Minister belongs to the entire country. He said it is unfortunate that instead of respecting PM Modi’s values, the opposition and particularly the Congress is making derogatory remarks against him. Gadkari said the party which could not give justice to victims of 1984 riots is now talking about NYAY.
BJP president Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Balrampur. He slammed SP and BSP of playing caste politics.
