Parties gearing up for 5th phase of polls

As the fifth phase phase of elections are around the corner and less than a month left for the results. Leaders of the ruling party, and the opposition parties, are campaigning with full force.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi was in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. Addressing a rally in Rewa, he said that if the Congress comes to power, no farmer will be jailed for non-repayment of debts.

Later in the day, Rahul interacted with the public at a rally in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur where he promised to provide 22 lakh jobs to the unemployed youth in government sector as well as 10 lakh jobs in Panchayats, if the Congress comes to power.

He also said youth will not be required to obtain any kind of permission to start a new business for three years.

Electioneering is in full swing in Uttar Pradesh as well, where BSP supremo Mayawati campaigned in Sultanpur while Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was campaigning in the adjacent district, Ayodhya.

Mayawati came down heavily uopn the BJP and the Congress, Akhilesh said that the ongoing elections will bring a great change in the country.

Actor Sonakshi Sinha came out to support her mother and SP candidate from Lucknow Poonam Sinha adding star power her campaign.

In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was in Sitamarhi’s Bajpatti, where he made an appeal for votes for the NDA candidate Sunil Kumar Pintu.

The political fever is soaring high in Punjab as well where former Chief Minister and leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Prakash Singh Badal campaigned for party candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal in Bathinda.

Meanwhile, a Congress delegation met the Election Commission in Delhi regarding complaints on three issues including EVMs.

All in all leaders across parties are bracing up for the crucial political battle. The fifth phase of elections will be held on May 6th.
