CM Rawat  requested a one- time special central help of  Rs 4570 crore for Mahakumbh mela-2021  

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat during his meeting with Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley in New Delhi on Friday has sought a one-time special central help of Rs 4570 crore for Mahakumbh mela-2021. Chief Minister said that Mahakumbh is to be organized from January till April 2021 at Haridwar. More than 15 crore pilgrims are expected to visit Haridwar during these four months from all over the world. The Mahakumbh mela will start at Haridwar on January1, 2021. All the works related to the Mahakumbh are to be completed by October 2020.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat during his meeting with Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley said that for the convenience and safety of pilgrims, the works of permanent nature like road construction/ strengthening, construction of ghats, provision of electricity, water, law and order, traffic management, appropriate health services, garbage disposal in mela area to keep it clean, arrangements of temporary camps for religious organizations and pilgrims for their stay, making arrangements for parking of vehicles are to be done at a large scale. All these works have to be completed by October 2020.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that since Uttaraklhand has limited financial resources, the central help to hold Mahakumbh at Haridwar is utmost important.  He requested the Union finance Minister to make provision in the coming union budget for providing a one-time special of Rs 4570 crore for Mahakumbh mela 2021 at Haridwar. The Union Minister assured him of all the help
