CM Rawat calls for promoting trekking on new & unknown mountain destinations of state

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has called for promoting trekking on new and unknown mountain destinations of the state. Every time trekkers go to the new destinations, the world gets information about new tourist destinations.

At the same time, it also provides information about the specialties and difficulties of that area. It brings out the diversity of Uttarakhand and new tourist destination. With the mountain trekking campaigns, the interest of the tourists and trekkers from all over the world increases towards new tourist destinations.

This provides employment opportunities to local people. Chief Minister said that trekking campaigns should be connected with environment and Himalayan protection, the rejuvenation of rivers, Ganga cleanliness drive, polythene free environment, Swachh Bharat and tree plantation. Chief Minister talked of connecting more and more women with mountaineering. Chief Minister also flagged off the Himalayan Digdarshan Yatra Sarutal from the CM residence on Monday. Chief Minister congratulated and extended his best wishes to the trekking team. Himalayan Digdarshan Yatra Sarutal will run from October 22 to October 27. The 14-member trekking team will travel from Dehradun to Devjani, Kedarkantha, Dunda, Talhati, Surtal, Dobalka, Sar, Ghingadi, Gangatri etc. Surtal is a holy lake situated at an altitude of about 4200-mt in Uttarakhashi, Uttarakhand. On the Surtal trek, the panoramic peaks of Gangotri, Swargarohini, Kalanag and Bandarpunch are visible.

On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Industrial Advisor Mr. KS Panwar and OSD to CM Mr. Dhirendra Singh Panwar were also present.
