Finance Commission to visit Uttarakhand from Oct 15 to 18
The members of the 15th Finance Commission will stay in Uttarakhand from October 15to 18, 2018. During their important visit to the state, the members of the commission will hold discussions with different segments.
The commission notified by the government of India will make recommendations for transfer of taxes ( giving rights to the states by the centre) and other financial matters for five financials years. Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh held a preparatory meeting in this regard.
Different departments gave their presentations in the meeting held at secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Secretary instructed that the commission should be informed about the resources and the limitations of the state. Finance Secretary Amit Negi asked the departmental secretaries to seriously prepare and make recommendations to the commission for estimates for the years 2020 to 2024.
Secretary Education Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh, Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary Animal Husbandry Meenakshi Sundram, Secretary Forest Arvind Singh Hyanki, ADG Ram Singh Meena, Additional Secretary R. Rakesh Kumar, Ram Vilas Yadav and other officers were present.
It is to be mentioned that in the 15th Finance Commission constituted by the Government of India, Mr. N.K. Singh is president while Mr. Shakti Kant Dass, Prof(Dr) Anoop Singh, Dr. Ashok Lahiri and Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Chand are members.
