India set to test nuclear-capable Agni-V to hit northern China
Odisha: India is all set to test its Agni-V intercontinental ballistic missile which is capable enough to hit targets as far as northern China.
The test is scheduled to happen December 14, will be the fourth and final test of the missile from Wheeler Island off Odisha before the Strategic Forces Command begins its trial.
The fourth test was put on hold due to a technical hitch in its battery. The most superior edition of the native built Agni will be tested for its full range.
Liu Weimin, spokesman for China’s Foreign Ministry said that China and India are large developing nations and are not competitors but partners.
“We believe that both sides should cherish the hard-won good state of affairs at present, and work hard to uphold friendly strategic co-operation to promote joint development and make positive contributions towards maintaining peace and stability in the region,” Liu Weimin added.
