Hyderabad Twin bomb blasts case accused convicted
Hyderabad :A special NIA court on Tuesday convicted five Indian Mujahideen terrorists, including Yasin Bhatkal, for their role in the 2013 Hyderabad bomb blasts.
The quantum of punishment for the five IM operatives will be pronounced on December 19. The convicted are Yasin Bhatkal alias Mohammed Ahmed Siddibappa, Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi,Tahseen Akhtar alias Monu, Pakistani national Zia ur Rehman alias Waqas, and Ajaz Shaikh .
On February 21, 2013, the Twin blasts killed 19 people and injured more than 130 others in Hyderabad’s Dilsukhnagar .
The case was probed by the NIA, which concluded that the blasts were engineered by Indian Mujahideen operatives.
The trial has been going on in a special court at the prison for the last one year. The NIA has filed two chargesheets against the five accused.
The agency produced 158 witnesses, seized 201 pieces of material evidence and furnished over 500 documents in court.
