CM Rawat to take up Uttarakhand related issue with PM Modi on Aug 9
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat will meet Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 9 to discuss various development projects related to the interest of the state. The Chief Minister will also again request the Prime Minister to accept the invitation to participate in the proposed Investors Summit being organized by Uttarakhand in the month of October as a Chief Guest. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat will also brief the Prime Minister about the implementation of different developmental projects and to seek central government funds for the same.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the heads of the various departments on the issues related with the interests of the state that would be put forth before the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and held detailed discussions at Chief Minister’s residence here on Tuesday. The issues that the Chief Minister is going to discuss with the Prime Minister include a 2.50 kilometer long bridge to be built on river Ganga at Kankhal near Jagjitpur in Haridwar to ease the traffic flow in view of the forthcoming Kumbh Mela and other religious festivals, beautification and rebuilding of ghats at Neeldhara, a new CSS in view of the scarcity of water in the entire country and Uttarakhand, Kishau multi-purpose project (600MW) of National importance, to operate Lakhwar multi-purpose project (300 MW) in the ratio of 90:10, Bawla-Nandprayag Hydro power project (300 MW), construction of Nandprayag-Langsu Hydro-electric project (100 MW), grant of Rs.1000 crore for construction of Song Dam for tackling the water crisis of Dehradun, Rs.3000 crore for multi-purpose Jamrani dam project, required money for building permanent infrastructure for 2021 kumbh at Haridwar, grant of transport subsidy
to industrial units in Himalayan states, return of land of HMT back to state government, availability of land at BHEL for multi model logistics at Haridwar, Tankpur to Pithoragarh-Bageshwar and Ramnagar-Chukhutia railway line and Bageshwar-Karanprayag railway line.
Besides these, he will also take up with the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi the issue of inclusion of Eco-System Services by the state to the country in the National Accounting System and through this system collection of money from Green Deficit States and formation of a national exchange, grant of money as per green cover@ESS and till the system is in place Uttarakhand be given a sum of Rs. 2000 crore every year as ‘Green Bonus’.
The Chief Minister will also request the Prime Minister to grant funds for construction of new air strip at Chukhutia-Almora, formation of International Ayush Research Institute near Kotdwar which is birth place of Charak and money for resettlement of 350 disaster prone villages. The Chief Minister will also request the Prime Minister to include Uttarakhand in Northen Railways for development and better railway services in the state. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that transportation of goods in disaster affected and remote area should be ensured.
