NABARD sanctions Rs. 21,000 cr for agriculture loan: Economic Affairs Secretary
New Delhi:Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das has said that for the benefit of farmers, NABARD i.e National Bank for Agriculture And Rural Development has sanctioned Rs. 21,000 crores to rural areas.
This move will enable district cooperative banks to pass the money to primary agri societies.
This will also help farmers for current Rabi season.
Shaktikanta Das said that the National Payment Corporation of India is coming up with Unified Payments Interface, a mobile app in which customers can transfer and can receive money online between different banks.
Das also said that all switching charges and other charges on Rupay cards have been waived till December 31.
And now the service providers have also agreed to waive all switching charges on all debit cards till December 31.
Talking about the re-calibration process of ATMs across the country, Shaktikanta Das said that it is just a matter of days before money is available to all in ATMs.
