Amulya Patnaik takes charge as commissioner of Delhi Police

Amulya Kumar Patnaik took charge as Commissioner of Delhi Police.

A 1985-batch officer of AGMUT cadre, Patnaik was earlier posted as the Special CP (Administration).

He is a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Patnaik is due to retire in January 2020.

He took over from Alok Kumar Verma, who has been appointed as CBI director.
