Energy efficiency Conclave begins in Hyderabad

The three-day conclave started with with the lighting of the lamp ceremony by Upendra Bhatt, Managing Director – cKinetics and Chairperson, Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy, Jarnail Singh, Deputy Director (India), MacArthur Foundation, Sanjay Bajpai, Head – Technology Missions Division (Energy, Water & all Other), Department of Science & Technology, and Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the presence of Dr. Satish Kumar, President & executive director AEEE. It was followed by keynote address by all the dignitaries.

Mr. Anil Kumar Jain, IAS, & Secretary Ministry of Coal, Government of India, focussed on how energy efficiency today is well adopted in India’s energy strategy and how it is also important as renewable energy in India’s sustainable energy transition (Audio of Anil Jain speech attached). He further reiterated the importance of transperancy in public disclosure.

To keep Energy Efficiency at the center of the energy discourse in an era requiring urgent climate action – competitiveness and growth of enterprises, jobs and inclusion and data and digital platform to make energy visible.
