Swachhta Abhiyan is the utmost priority of government: CM Trivendra
Rebuking the officials of the Haridwar Municipal Corporation, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed them to soon ensure the garbage disposal in the district Haridwar. He warned the officials that in case the garbage disposal was not ensured in the district, then strict action will be initiated against the concerned officers. He said that Swachhta Abhiyan is the utmost priority of the government. Any negligence in the waste disposal on time and cleaning of public places will not be tolerated. Chief Minister said that the in the public works, the officers in coordination with the elected representatives of the public should adopt a collaborative approach. Chief Minister was holding a meeting in connection with the beautification of district Haridwar at Secretariat on Monday.
Chief Minister issued strict instructions to stop the blood flow from the slaughterhouses in the outer areas of the district Haridwar, directly to the rivers and streams. Taking cognizance of the local people’s complaint, the Chief Minister ordered the District Magistrate Haridwar to investigate the closure of the sewerage treatment plant during the rainy season. He issued instruction for imnmediate technical survey for connecting the Nullahs with STP (Sewerage Treatment Plant) and ensure cleanliness. Chief Minister said that before 2021 Haridwar Kumbh we have to ensure cleanliness and revival of about 135 nullahs of the state in which 23 are located in Haridwar. He talked about making Ganga clean before the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh. Chief Minister said that there is a need to work on short-term schemes with immediate effect, along with long term schemes for the cleanliness of the drains and the management of solid waste.
In the meeting Parmarth Niketan gave a presentation on the successful attempt to clean and beautify the Chandreshwar Nullah in very short period of five days. Chief Minister instructed that the aforementioned effort of Parmarth Niketan by the officials should also be implemented in the form of pilot project for treatment and beautification of other drains. He instructed that a Technical Survey should be conducted soon to implement this project. Chief Minister instructed that as long as the sewerage treatment plant is not established for the treatment of drains of the state, work on the possibility of implementing the Chandreshwar Nullah model for immediate treatment of various drains.
During the meeting, discussions were held about the redevelopment and beautification of various Ghats in district Haridwar, development of Yoga Park, beautification of various roads, entrances, plantation, multilevel parking with the support of the administration and CSR fund.
Cabinet Minister Mr. Madan Kaushik, MLA Mr. Adesh Chauhan, Swami Yatiswarananda, Mr. Deshraj Karanwal, Mr. Pradeep Batra, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Principal Secretary Mr. Anand Bardhan, Secretary Mr. Arvind Hayanki, District Magistrate Haridwar Mr. Deepak Rawat, Swami Chidanand Muni of Parmarth Niketan and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
