Special measures for the prevention of chemical accidents

Andhra Pradesh CS Dinesh Kumar has conducted a meeting with the State Crisis group in Secretariat on Wednesday. While speaking in this meeting, CS said that they should frame certain special measure to counter the sudden chemical accidents in the state. CS said that except Vijayanagaram and Guntur, all the other districts in the state have around 85 chemical industries. He has informed the officials that all the chemical industries present in the state should have safety equipments and strict action should be taken against any industrial management failing to have safety equipment in them.

CS has asked the Crisis management team to make sure that all the chemical industries are safe to work and has ordered the team to conduct awareness camps in the industries. CS has asked the Crisis management team to take into consideration the chemical deposition from the industries into the water bodies and make sure that they do not exceed the limits. CS has asked the team to conduct awareness programs for the people dependent on those water bodies and make sure they are aware of it. CS has also asked for a regular thorough check of the chemical transporting vehicles and for the gas pipe lines that are passing beneath the agricultural fields.
