GOVERNMENT ORDERS PROBE INTO DEATHS OF 5 MOTHERS AT NILOUFER HOSPITAL
Hyderabad: TS Government on Tuesday ordered a probe into the death of 5 woman died at Niloufer Hospital as a result of serious hurt once Caesarian in precisely a few week. Government ordered Hyderabad district collector Rahul Bojja to conduct the probe and submit the report within a week.
Health minister Dr K Laxma Reddy, while addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, informed that a three-member committee of doctors comprising of Petlaburj Government Maternity Hospital superintendent Dr Pratibha, Prof. Rani from Gandhi Hospital and anaesthesiologist Dr Deeparaj Singh, will conjointly investigate the circumstances resulting in the death of the 5 woman and submit a report back to the govt. before the top of on. He assured that the government will take harsh steps against those found responsible for the deaths.
The press conference was held following protests at Niloufer Hospital by the kin of five women who died after C-sections.
The committee will look into several aspects related to the deaths, including the case histories of the five women, examine reports of the tests conducted on them, analyze the prescribed drugs and the procedures followed in the operation theatre, and prepare an overall `death audit’.
