All determinations to fulfil cultural aspirations of Tamil people: Modi

PM Modi on Saturday said that Centre is making all out efforts to fulfil the cultural aspirations of Tamil people.

Prime Minister Modi re-iterated that Central Government is fully committed to the progress of Tamil Nadu and will always work to ensure the state scales new avenues of progress.

However, midnight celebrations broke out in Chennai after Central Govt gave nod to Jallikatu ordinance.

Decks were cleared on Friday evening for an ordinance on Jallikattu drafted by the Tamil Nadu government even as the state stood on the edge.

Protesters on Marina beach and elsewhere in the state refused to relent.

Meanwhile, AIADMK Members led by deputy speaker of Lok Sabha M. Thambi Durai on Saturday met President Pranab Mukherjee over Jalikkattu Ordinance.
