CM Trivendra reviews anti-encroachment campaign
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat on Wednesday had a detailed discussion with the officials of the Departments concerned with reconstruction and development after the removal of encroachment in Dehradun city on the orders of the High Court.
He said that the widening of the road/pavement, beautification and constructing drains, work of fixing tiles etc. should be done on top priority. He also instructed that fencing arrangements should also be made wherever necessary. He also asked to focus on the reinstallation of power and telephone poles.
On the order given by the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash convened a meeting with the officers at IRDT auditorium, Women Industrial Training Institute, Survey Chowk on Wednesday. And issued necessary instructions for completing the said work.
Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun and district administration has initiated action to demolish illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes and roads in Dehradun city. On Wednesday, 145 illegal encroachments were demolished by 651 workers. A total of 243 encroachments were identified by 1643 workers and sealing of three buildings was done by 75 employees.
Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that a Special Leave Petition (SLP) against the order of the High Court was filed in the Supreme Court. In the order passed in this regard, no amendment/change has been made in the order of the High Court regarding removing encroachment on public roads.
Therefore, the removal of encroachment on public roads will continue. In regard to the removal of encroachment at different places from the public routes, the competent authority of the municipal corporation will have to give notice to the concerned person in three weeks, after which three weeks time will be given to answer and after that the competent authority will have to take a decision in the next four weeks.
At these places the status quo will remain till then. If any encroachment comes in light after the date of order of the High Court, then such encroachment will be removed after taking due decision after giving 24 hours notice. In addition to the above, in the general directive of the High Court, no amendments/changes have been made. Now work of identification will be speeded up and task of making the public roads free from encroachment will be done at a fast speed.
In the meeting, Chief of Task Force to remove encroachments and vice-president of Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority Ashish Srivastava, District Magistrate Mr. S.A.Murugesan, Senior Superintendent of Police Nivedita Kukreti, Chief Municipal Commissioner Vijay Jogdande, Secretary MDDA P.C. Dumka, Assistant Secretary Dinesh Kumar Punetha, along with the concerned officials attached to the encroachment withdrawn campaign were present.
