Urns carrying ashes of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to be immersed in 100 rivers across country
The BJP will take out yatras with urns carrying the ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to be immersed in rivers across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah handed over the ashes of the late leader to state unit presidents of the BJP at a function in New Delhi on Wednesday. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and family members of Atal Bihari Vajpayee were present on the occasion.
Urns of the ashes of late former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee at the BJP’s former headquarters on Ashok Road in the national capital.
The party had decided to ensure that these urns travel to every taluka of the country so that admirers could pay floral tributes to the people’s leader.
Tuesday saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj gather along with senior leader Ram Lal and Vajpayee’s family members at the old headquarters to hand over the urns to President’s of the party’s state units from all over the country.
Othe top ministers and party leaders also attended the event.

The BJP decided to take out late Atal ji’s ‘Asthi Kalash Yatra’ through all states in the country to enable all countrymen to offer floral tributes to their popular leader. Handed over urns containing Atal ji’s ashes to all BJP state Presidents today for their immersion in different parts of the country.

Atal ji’s ashti kalash were handed over to all BJP state President’s today in the presence of Prime Minister and National President. Ashthi Kalash are being taken to all states. Atal ji’s memories will remain evergreen in all our hearts
The event in the national capital triggered off a series of ashti kalash yatras all over the country..in different state capitals, district headquarters and talukas.
State Presidents reached different state capitals through the course of the day to rousing receptions..People paid homage to the former PM by bowing to the asthi kalash..Crowds in thousands were seen in different cities.
In most states..Chief Ministers of top state BJP leaders were present to lead the asthi kalash yatra and pay homage to Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Atal Behari Vajpayee’s ashes were immersed at Haridwar on Sunday..BJP chief Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and other top leaders were present on the occasion alongside the former Prime Minister’s family members.
BJP also organised an all party prayer meet at Delhi Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium where leaders from wide spectrum of political parties paid rich tributes to Atal Behari Vaipayee led by the Prime Minister.
The Atal ashti kalash yatra will lead to the immersion of the former Prime Minister ashes in nearly 100 rivers across the country.
