Universities be place for free thinking: President

President Pranab Mukherjee reiterates the need of free exchanges of views in universities without any bondage and external imposition; Quotes first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on objectives of universities.

President Mukherjee has said that India had a long tradition of learning. Although significant development in education has taken place in the country today we must continue to transform our universities into temples of modern education.

President was addressing Centenary Celebrations of Osmania University at Hyderabad on Wednesday.
