SC upholds appointment of CVC

The Supreme Court today upheld the appointment of Central Vigilance Commissioner K V Chaudhary and Vigilance Commissioner T M Bhasin.
Dismissing the plea challenging the appointment, the Apex Court said there were no grounds to quash them.
The plea alleged that they did not have a “clean record” and a non-transparent procedure was followed while appointing them.
The Centre appointed Chaudhary and Bhasin to their posts in June 2015.
