Radio is powerful means of communication: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, communication will be more effective if we accept instead of expect and discuss instead of dismiss.
Sharing his thoughts in the 50th episode of Mann Ki Baat programme on All India Radio, PM Modi said, his effort is to have a continuous dialogue with the youthin various programmes or through social media.
e said, he tries to share the efforts and achievements of the youth asmuch as possible through the programme.Saying that radio is the most effective medium of communication, the Prime Minister said, in terms of the reach and depth of its communication,radio has been incomparable.
He said, when he took charge as the PradhanSevak in 2014, it was his wish to reach out to the masses with the great storyof India.
PM Modi said, a survey conducted by All India Radio says that most ofthe people believe that the greatest contribution of Mann Ki Baat has been theenhancement of feeling of positivity in society.
He said, the medium of Mann KiBaat has promoted many mass movements.The Prime Minister said, he is overjoyed on account of the fact thatthrough Mann Ki Baat, radio is rising as a popular medium, more than everbefore.
Over the past episodes, it was found that the programme has remainedapolitical.
PM Modi Modi said, when Mann Ki Baat commenced, he had firmly decidedthat it would carry nothing political, or any praise for the Government, or for him.
The Prime Minister asserted that as a run up to each episode of Mann KiBaat, the expectations and aspirations of listeners through their letters,online comments and phone calls are taken into account by him.
He said, he maycome and go, but this country will never let go of its unity and permanence andour culture will always be immortal.
PM Modi Modi highlighted that the biggest achievement of the 50 episodes ofMann Ki Baat is that one feels like talking to a close acquaintance and not to the Prime Minister which reflects the true democracy.
The Prime Minister said, Mann Ki Baat carries his voice but theexamples, emotions and spirit represent the countrymen and he thanks everyperson contributing to the programme.
He said, he firmly believes that people’s ideas and views will continuereaching him in even greater numbers and will help make Mann Ki Baat moreinteresting, effective and useful.
PM Modi Modi said, an effort is also made that the concerned department paysattention to such letters and comments which, somehow, could not be included inMann Ki Baat.
He also thanked media, saying that it is due to them theprogramme reaches maximum number of people.
The Prime Minister said, many issues like road safety, drugs freeIndia, selfie with daughter, raised in Mann Ki Baat have been taken up by themedia and turned into campaigns.
On the Constitution Day to be celebrated tomorrow, PM Modi said, the dayis to remember those great personalities who gave us a comprehensive anddetailed Constitution.
He said, the Constituent Assembly was an amalgamation of the greattalents of the country, each one of whom was committed to provide a Constitution to the country which empowers the people of India and enricheseven the poorest of the poor.
PM Modi Modi said, the unique point in our constitution is that the rightsand duties have been very comprehensively detailed. He said, a balance betweenthese two in the lives of citizens will take the country forward.
The Prime Minister appealed to the people to take forward the valuesenshrined in the constitution and ensure peace, progress and prosperityin the country Saying next year the country will be celebrating 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who always envisaged the welfare of entire humanity, PMModi said it will be celebrated in a grand way.
He said, a train will be runon a route joining all the holy places connected with Guru Nanak Devji.
The Prime Minister said, the government has taken a significant decisionof building Kartarpur corridor so that countrymen could easily visit Kartarpurin Pakistan to pay homage to Guru Nanak Dev Ji at that holy sight.
