Prime Minister Modi to light ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ to mark 50th anniversary of Indo-Pak war

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will light the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ on Wednesday to mark the 50th anniversary of the Indo-Pak war.

The Ministry of Defense said that various memorials are being planned across the country and the inauguration will be held at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
The ministry said the award recipients were bringing clay from the villages and areas where major wars took place in 1971 to a memorial in New Delhi.

Four Victory Mashals are lit from the Eternal Flame of the National War Memorial.These mashals are taken to different parts of the country to the Param Veer Chakra villages and to the recipients of the Mahavir Chakra Award from the 1971 war.
