PM Modi will release 15th installment of PM-Kisan scheme in Jharkhand on Wednesday

New Delhi, 14 November: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 15th instalment of the cash transfer scheme PM-Kisan for farmers in Khunti, Jharkhand on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the occasion on November 15 at Birsa College, Khunti, Jharkhand to celebrate ‘Tribal Pride Day’ and release the 15th instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme, an official statement said on Tuesday. In the programme, the Prime Minister will provide an amount of over Rs 18,000 crore to more than 8 crore eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer mode by pressing the button of the remote.

It is noteworthy that Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is one of the largest direct benefit transfer schemes in the world. The scheme was launched on February 24, 2019. Under PM-Kisan, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to farmers with valid enrollment. It is paid in three equal cash transfers of Rs 2,000 each once every four months. So far, benefits worth more than Rs 2.61 lakh crore have been provided to more than 11 crore farmers across the country.
