PM Modi thanks those who participated in Yoga Day world over

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to the people across the world who participated in the International Day of Yoga.
The Prime Minister in a tweet thanked people across the world who took part in International Day of Yoga Programmes in their countries.

He said their support to Yoga is deeply appreciated.

He also saluted all those families where three generations came together and practiced Yoga.

The third International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the world, with lakhs of people bending, stretching and twisting their bodies to different yogic asanas.

The Prime Minister himself led over 50,000 yoga enthusiasts in performing ‘asanas’ in Lucknow amid showers. Addressing the participants in Lucknow, the Prime Minister said yoga, which connects body with mind and intelligence, was today playing an important role in connecting the whole world with India.

On the UN-declared day, lakhs of people performed yoga in all major cities of India as well various parts of the world, including New York, the Trafalgar Square in London and the Great Wall in China.

The Yoga Day celebrations took place in 5,000 places across the country and 180 countries across the globe.
