Panchayat Raj system in the state would be strengthened :KCR
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced that Panchayat Raj system in the state would be strengthened and along with the gram panchayats, Mandal Parishads and Zilla Parishad would be changed into functional institutions. Sri Gatika Ajay Kumar, from Nekkonda in Warangal Rural district, who was appointed as the Member of the Panchayat Raj tribunal, met the CM at Pragati Bhavan here on Wednesday along with MPPs, ZPTCs and local public representatives. Sri Ajay Kumar thanked the CM for appointing him as the Tribunal Member. The CM in turn congratulated Sri Ajay Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM has expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the 30-day Action Plan in the villages. The disclosed that like the Gram Panchayats, Mandal and Zilla Parishads would also be given fixed duties, funds and responsibilities and an exercise in this regard is taking place. Very soon, a meeting of the MPPs, ZPTCs and ZP Chairpersons would be held in Hyderabad.
He said Rs 339 Crore funds from the Finance Commission are given to the village Panchayats every month. Funds for the MPPs and ZPs would also be released. The CM said his aim is to make every village an ideal village in the country. The CM desired that with people’s extended participation and under the leadership of local bodies and public representatives, the villages should develop and prosper. He assured that for this, the required financial support would be given by the government. The CM gave call that people should be united at the village level and develop their villages utilising the funds properly. ZPTC Ms Saroja Harikishan Naik, MPP Sri Jatothu Ramesh, TRS leaders Sri Ramesh Yadav, Sri Tatipalli Sivakumar, Sri Sampath Rao, Sri Srikanth, Sri Murthy and others participated among those who met the CM.
