Padmao Rao plants toddy plants in Haritha haram scheme

Telangana state Minister for Prohibition and Excise Padma Rao, on the occasion of third phase of Haritha haram scheme conducted on 12.07.2017 has planted toddy plants in Rampally area of Medchel mandal. While speaking in the meeting minister said that last year excise department has planted 44L of toddy plants and he said that this year they are planning to plant 2cr of toddy plants across the state. The minister said that like last year the excise department will be conducting an excise plantation day even this year and plant 25L of toddy plants on that day. The minister said that every cadre officer under the excise department will do the plantation within the station limits across the state. He urged the people of the rampally area to participate in the third phase of Haritha haram scheme and help in plantation and protection of the plants.

The minister said that the state government has decided to give awards to people, institutions, and officers who strive to protect the plants being planted under Haritha haram. The minister said that with the plantation of toddy plants across the river banks, it will be helpful for the toddy farmers in getting a better quantity of toddy. The minister said that it was CM K. Chandra Shekar Rao’s initiative, to provide excreatia to toddy workers and the excise department is planning to provide special equipment to toddy farmers for free which will help them in climbing the toddy plants with ease. MP Malla Reddy, Rampally constituency MLA Sudheer Reddy, Joint collector Dharma Reddy, OSD Rajeshwar Rao, Toddy farmers, Excise officers, Goud’s union members along with the people were present at the meeting.
