No one can capture even an inch of India’s land: Amit Shah
Dehradun/New Delhi, 10 November: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that as long as our ITBP and Army personnel are deployed on the border, no one can capture even an inch of India’s land. Now the snow women are also joining shoulder to shoulder in protecting the country’s borders.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday addressed the 62nd Foundation Day ceremony of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) as the chief guest in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. During this, Amit Shah e-inaugurated self-sustainable energy buildings for soldiers and drones for supplying vegetables, medicines and other essential items at BOPs (Border Observation Posts) located in inaccessible areas. The Home Minister also launched a flip book made on 147 martyrs of ITBP. Many dignitaries including Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and ITBP Director General were present on the occasion.
Amit Shah said that when the countrymen light a lamp in their homes on the occasion of Diwali, they also light a lamp for our brave soldiers deployed on the border. The 130 crore people of the country wholeheartedly respect the sacrifice, sacrifice, courage and bravery of the brave soldiers. The people of the country sleep peacefully because our brave soldiers dedicate the golden years of their lives for the security of the country on the borders. The sacrifice, service and sacrifice of the Himveers is priceless and the entire country salutes it.
The Union Home Minister said that today is the foundation day of ITBP and our Himveers have worked for the last 62 years to protect the inaccessible borders of India with the motto of bravery, determination and devotion. He said that it has been the ITBP’s tradition to remain vigilant and protect the country’s forward borders in temperatures of minus 45 degrees Celsius and not to shy away from making the ultimate sacrifice when necessary. ITBP started 62 years ago with 7 divisions. Today it has emerged as a strong force with one lakh Himveers, 60 divisions, 17 training centres, 16 sectors, 5 frontiers and 2 command headquarters. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, keeping in mind the demand of Himveers, the Central Government has also fixed the quota for the country’s Central Armed Police Forces on the lines of the Army in air and rail.
Home Minister Shah said that ITBP’s participation in the field of sports has also increased a lot, which is a very good thing. Apart from this, in the direction of environmental protection, more than 36 lakh trees have been planted in such a remote area. He asked all the soldiers to connect with the trees, which will not only bring a huge change and sensitivity in their minds, but the connection with the nurturing of trees will also bring a huge change in the minds of the soldiers. These 36 lakh saplings will become big trees in 5 years and will purify the environment of the country as well as the entire world.
He said that recently Prime Minister Modi has presented a new concept to the country through the Vibrant Village Project. Earlier the village situated on the border was called the last village of the country, but Prime Minister Modi went there and said that it is not the last but the first village of the country. Prime Minister Modi has created the Vibrant Village Program with the approach of not only sustaining but also increasing the population of villages situated on the border and providing facilities there like in other parts of the country. In the first phase of this program, the Modi government has worked to improve the system of electricity, roads, employment, skill development, education and health for 662 villages of 46 blocks in 19 districts with a budget of Rs 4800 crore.
Amit Shah said that the security of the country’s borders is the responsibility of the Himveers, but if these border villages become vacant then there will be a lot of problems in this work. In the coming year, 168 unconnected villages will also be connected to roads, electricity, telecommunication and health services. The country cannot remain safe without development of facilities on the borders. Before 2014, an average expenditure of Rs 4000 crore was spent annually on the development of India-China border facilities, which has been increased to an average of Rs 12340 crore annually in the last 9 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. The government has increased the expenditure three times for building roads, BOPs on the border, providing facilities to soldiers and making villages comfortable. Work has been done to build more than 350 bridges and culverts in this inaccessible area. The government has made many schemes for the welfare of soldiers in the last 9 years.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that the internal security situation of the country has changed a lot in the last 9 years. After the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, today we have been successful in gaining complete control over terrorism there. Internal security is becoming very strong and the security of the borders is being handled by our Himveer. By 2047, we have to make India such a country that we lead the world in every field.
The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Modi had presented before all of us the idea of using drones for the supply of vegetables, medicines and other essential commodities at BOPs (Border Observation Posts) located in inaccessible areas and at high altitudes. In the direction of realizing this vision, today the first drone will deliver 15 kg of medicines and vegetables.
It has reached the inaccessible area, this is a big start.
Amit Shah said that recently the Prime Minister has approved 7 battalions of ITBP on the initiative of the Union Home Ministry and this is the first time after the establishment that 7 battalions have been approved together, out of which 4 battalions are to be deployed soon. Will go. These 7 battalions and 1 sector headquarters will be built at a cost of approximately Rs 3000 crore.
The Home Minister gave special congratulations and best wishes to the snow warriors deployed in protecting the country’s borders in such a remote area.
Apart from this, Amit Shah said that among the many new initiatives taken here today, Self Sustainable Energy Building is very special. Because this building built at an altitude of 17,000 feet will become a symbol of self-reliant India in the cold desert. This building is a unique Diwali gift to the Himveers from the Prime Minister of the country and the Home Ministry. When the outside temperature drops to 40-45 degrees below zero and petrol or diesel cannot be used, this building will keep the soldiers safe at a temperature of 18-19 degrees.
