New law to be implemented for seed adulteration

Telanagana Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has given the assurance that any person found responsible for the adulteration of agricultural seeds to be punished severely by the state governemnet. The Minister was at the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricutural University for the laying the foundation stone for the Telangana seeds quality testing centre along with the legislative council Chairman Swami Goud. Telangana Agriculture Ministry has sanctioned 6.19 crores for the establishment of this testing centre within the University premises. He also mentioned that the state government is about to bring a new law to punish the person responsible for the adulteration of seeds. He said that it is the responsibility of the seed quality centres to make the seeds of Telagana even more productive than other state seeds.

As the research centre is being built with the world class technology, the Minister said that there should be no compromise on the quality as it will help in building Telangana’s image along with increasing the income to the farmers of the state. The Minister said that the state government has planned to organise a world class summit on the Research of Agricultural seeds in Hyderabad in 2019 and it is a great honour for the state government as it is the first time such summit is being held in Asia and Hyderabad being the venue.

Legislative Council Chairman Swami Goud who was present at this meeting said that India is the master of agriculture to the world and the research institute to be built in the Agricultural University will become the guide to all the other research institutes in the country. The Minister also waived the flag to vehicle transporting cereals to Egypt. Rajendra nagar MLA T. Prakash goud, University vice chancellor Dr V. Praveen Rao , Agricutural Commissioner M. Jagan Mohan corporators  of Rajendra Nagar and Attapur were also present at the meeting.
