Neradi barrage a boon to Srikakulam: Chandra babu naidu
After the Vamsadhara Tribunal gave its decision for the usage of 52.5 tmc’s of water from Vamsadhara River to AP, Chief Minister Chandra babu naidu said that Neradi barrage will be a boon to Srikakulam. He said that with this they can provide water to 2, 52,208 acres of farm land. He said that with the construction of Neradi barrage, there will be a mutual benefit for both AP and Odisha. Due to the previous rift between both these states, Neradi barrage was stopped at stage 2.
CM said that with the construction of Neradi barrage, it will be possible to inter link Nagavali and Vamsadhara Rivers. He said that by 2018, they will finish the construction of Neradi barrage in collaboration with the Odisha government. CM said that the state government has procured 25,000 solar pump sets to pump water from the ground and they have asked the Odisha government to arrange 160 acres of land for the construction of Neradi barrage and AP government is ready to provide the compensation for it.
