Natural beauty of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand attracts everyone: CM Rawat
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the 18th Garh Kauthig festival beng organised by the Garhwal Bhratri Mandal Sanstha by lighting a traditional lamp at Clementown, Dehradun on Sunday. On this occasion, Manju Bhandari, Dr. K.S. Panwar and Satish Sundriyal and Hemlata were awarded the ‘Garh Ratna’. Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 50,000 as a support fund to the Manju Bhandari of Tehri district, who is struggling to maintain her family in difficult circumstances. After her father’s death during her childhood, Manju Bhandari, with hard work, raised her brothers and sisters and presented a new example for women.
Chief Minister said that such events have to be done in order to enrich their folk culture. We have to maintain our culture, traditions, dialects, which we have inherited. He said that the natural beauty of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand attracts everyone. Rivers, high mountains and forests and many estates are in Uttarakhand. He said that everybody has to contribute to the efforts of our ancestors to fulfill their hard work to keep the villages populated. Modern technology can change the picture of hill areas. There are immense possibilities of self-employment in hill areas.
On this occasion, MLA Vinod Chamoli, newly elected Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gamma, President of Garhwal Bhratri Mandal Sanstha Raghunandan Singh Rawat, Patron H.M. Bhartwan, Rakesh Juyal etc. were present on the occasion.
