Model markets with zero wastage should be built within six months: Dinesh Kumar
Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar has ordered the officials to develop the market yards in districts into model market yards within six months. He has conducted a meeting with the agriculture, marketing and its supporting department’s higher officials. He has asked the officials to grade the farm output being brought by the farmers into market yards and provide them the best price possible. He asked the officials to computerise the market yards. He has asked the officials to provide basic facilities to the farmers and make sure the market yards are clean with a zero wastage mission. He said the officials that the vegetables being brought into the vegetable markets are being damaged due to the improper transport and storage and he ordered the officials to make sure that doesn’t happen in future.
He has asked the officials to build compost yards in vegetable markets and make use of the damages vegetables. He has asked the officials to educate the farmers about raitu bandu scheme and make use of the godowns to the maximum extent. He asked the officials to make a note of the requirements to the godowns to be built in future. He has asked the agriculture department officials to inspect the farm lands and provide all the required material for high yields. Shyamala Anand Kumar, Agriculture department Commissioner Dr. Hari jawahar Lal, Supporting department Commissioner Murali were present during this meeting.
