“Make priority to start-ups focusing on local market.” Chief Secretary Mr. Om Prakash gave this instruction to the concerned members in the meeting of the State Start-up Council. He instructed that all start-ups should provide necessary financial support, and try to focus more on start-ups in state-based sectors like agriculture, herbal, health, tourism. He said that the incubators that are being recognized should all be implemented mandatorily within the stipulated time frame. He asked IIT Roorkee to work in the field of supporting the state in GIS based applications. In addition, he instructed to organize regular meeting of the council and identify the obstacles that may come in the way of promoting start-ups and timely redress them and encourage state universities and technical institutes of the state to set up incubators. So that the better start-up environment in the state will be maintained continuously.
Director Industries Shri Sudhir Nautiyal informed the council members through a presentation that a total of 83 start-ups have been identified in the state and 14 firms have been provided financial support so far as per the Start-up Policy-2018. is. In order to promote start-ups, education institutions are helping to shape start-ups through boot camps. He said that under the start-up this year, Idea Grand Challenges will be organized through virtual and through Uttarakhand Start-up Policy-2018, the top 10 start-ups of different sectors will be given 50 thousand per start-up with the same. He will also provide full support to make that start-up a business company.
In the meeting, valuable suggestions were also shared by the council members regarding promotion of start-ups in the state and the removal of practical, financial and other obstacles in the path of its establishment.
In the meeting of the State Start-up Council constituted under the State Start-up Policy-2018 of Uttarakhand, Additional Chief Secretary Smt Manisha Panwar, Secretary Shri R.S. K. Sudhanshu, Mr. Sachin Kurve, Commissioner Industries Shri S.A. Concerned members of the council, including the Murugation, were present.
