Last day of filing of nomination for by-polls to 6 Rajya Sabha seats

Today is the last day of filing of nomination for by polls to six rajya sabha seats in three states- Gujarat, Bihar and Odisha.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and OBC youth leader from Mehsana Jugalji Thakor, will file their nominations as BJP candidates from Gujarat for the by-polls of two Rajya Sabha seats today.

By-polls for the seats were necessitated following the resignations of national president Amit Shah and Union Minister Smriti Irani who were elected to the Lok Sabha.

Polling and counting for all six seats will be held on July 5.
