KRMB orders release of one TMC water to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

The Krishna River Management Board ordered release of two TMCft of water from Srisailam Dam, allowing one TMCft each to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to supply to the immediate drinking water requirements of Hyderabad and Nalgonda districts in the former and Guntur and Prakasam districts in the later.

TMCft of water will be released to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam from Srisailam at the rate of 7,000 cusecs per day for four days.

A.K. Srivatsava,Board Chairman and Sameer Chatterjee , Member Secretary on Thursday held consultations with Engineers-in-Chief C. Muralidhar (Telangana) and M. Venkateswara Rao (AP) and allotted the instruction.
