KCR meets Police and Forest officers to maintain law and Order in the State

The CM spoke at a meeting held at Pragathi Bhavan here on Wednesday in which senior police and forest officers have participated. The CM explained to the senior police officials about the need to work relentlessly to maintain law and Order in the State. In this meeting Home Minister Sri Mehmood Ali, Forest Minister Sri Indrakaran Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar,  DGP Sri Mahender Reddy, Government’s Chief Advisor Sri Rajiv Sharma, Advisor Sri Anurag Sharma, CM Principal Secretary Sri S Narsing Rao, CM Secretary Ms Smita Sabharwal, OSD Ms Priyanka Varghese, PCCF Ms Shobha, Higher officials from the forest department, SPs of all the districts, Police Commissioners, DIGs, Zonal IGs, other higher officials from the police department and others attended.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the Telangana government was laying more emphasis on women protection and the state police should put an extra effort in this regard. He said there was a need to control and eradicate the sale and supply of banned substances like the Ganja, which were harming the society especially the young generation. The CM instructed that stern action should be taken against those plundering the forest wealth. The CM said due to the negligent attitude of the past rulers, Timber smuggling became an easy business for some but the Telangana government had taken a serious note of it. He said in order to put an end to smuggling of forest wealth; the civilian police should also join hands with the forest officers. The CM urged that the police to actively participate in programmes like Haritha Haram to develop awareness about the forests and effectively control the smuggling of forest wealth. CM KCR has asked the forest officials to have coordination with the local police to control the smuggling activities.

 

The CM also suggested that higher officials from both the departments should have regular coordination meeting and prepare an action plan to curb the Timber smuggling. Only through such coordinated efforts a good service can be rendered to the society. The CM pointed out that after achieving the Telangana State, one of the many great victories of the new state is total eradication of manufacture and sale of the illicit liquor. He said due to Corona spread, there were some report suggest that some illicit liquor manufacturing is taking place in a very few places in the state, they also should be stopped forthwith. The police and Excise Officials, who made Telangana State as illicit liquor free state, should work with the same zeal to stop illicit liquor at a few places in the State. The Police and Excise officials should also work in coordination. The CM also asked the police to be on high alert about various social evils such as gambling in the State and curb them.

 

The CM said it was unfortunate that incidents of atrocities against the Dalits are being reported from various parts of the country. Sri KCR wanted that the society in the country should distance itself from such incidents. He also explained to the police the need to take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents against the Dalits. He wanted the police to focus more on the preventive measures and be alert. He said the responsibility to prevent any attack on the weaker sections of the society by the stronger sections lies with the State police. As part of this, all the police personnel from the higher officials to the lower rung officials should become part of the society, they should perform what is called friendly policing giving respect to each and every citizen without any discrimination and there by enhance the spirit of policing. The CM also said that the police should behave with humanitarian values when the weak and meek approach them for help and protection.

 

The CM also instructed the senior police officers to deal more firmly on the fake certificates incidents. It will send wrong signals in the society, if people are able to produce fake certificates instead of getting the real ones after studying hard. The CM asked the senior police officials to nab the gangs that are preparing the fake certificates and take stern action the culprits. The CM also reminded the police officials that those retiring from their service should get their pension settlement on their day of retirement and they should be respectfully sent to their homes the same day. He said for those who have served their major part of life in the department should be dropped in a vehicle till their residence on the day of their retirement. This tradition should continue, the CM said.

 

The CM said there should not be any delay in making the appointments on the compassionate grounds in the police department. He said every eligible family member of the deceased employee should be given jobs based on their eligible qualification and an immediate action plan should be put in place on the matter. The CM suggested to DGP Sri Mahender Reddy to find out if there were vacancies in other departments and fill them up with the candidates in the wait list.

 

The CM also felt that more effort should be put in the police department for the welfare of women employees. Since 33 per cent reservation for women is being implemented in the police department, the number of women employees on the rise. Hence at all the police offices, police stations and other wings where women are employed, rest rooms and other facilities for them should be created. The CM also suggested to the DGP to speed up the process of setting up 10 Lakh CC TV cameras in Hyderabad city. He wanted the police department to increase the use of Information technology advancements to control criminal activities and offenses. CM KCR said that the world-class, state-of-the-art Command Control system in Hyderabad would become operational very soon. He wanted the police to deal with an iron hand on organized crimes.
