KCR instructs for qualitative change in the development of villages and towns
Telangana CM on Monday said that to bring in a qualitative change in the development of villages and towns, it is important to implement the Panchayat Raj and Municipal Acts to the last letter and spirit. To ensure good governance to the people, these Acts should be made as effective implementation and people friendly. The CM held a review meeting on strengthening the Panchayat Raj Act, the action plan for its implementation and formulating a new Municipal Act.
Ministers Sri Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Sri Koppula Eswar, Sri Srinivas Goud, MLC Sri Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLA Sri Aroor Ramesh, Government’s Chief Advisor Sri Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary to the CM, Sri S Narsing Rao, Special Secretary to CM Sri Bhoopal Reddy, Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration) Sri Arvind Kumar, Commissioner Ms Sridevi and others participated.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said, “In tune with the way Panchayat Raj Act is being prepared to strengthen the Panchayat Raj, Municipal Act should also be made to offer corrupt free and effective governance to the people for their overall development and welfare. Prepare an effective action plan for the new Panchayat Raj Act. If we work with commitment, in the villages we have work on par with the municipalities. Officials and public representatives should bear this in mind. Do not leave work here and try to concentrate somewhere. There is a responsibility on us from providing basic infrastructure facilities in the educational institutions, providing clean environment in the villages to other development works pertaining to the basic sector. We have to understand that we have to provide improvised governance to the people in municipalities, which are fast developing on a day-to-day basis. Hence, prepare the Municipal Act perfectly involving both the officials and public representatives. The more we make the Municipal Act fool-proof, the better governance we will provide to the people,” the CM remarked.
