Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand addressed the Inaugural Session of Invest North Summit 2018 in Singapor

A Government of Uttarakhand delegation led by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat attended the Invest North Summit 2018, organized by High Commission of India in Singaporein collaboration with CII. The delegation visited Singapore to meet various potential investors in the country.

The delegation comprises of senior Government of Uttarakhand officials like Mr. K.S. Pawar, Industrial Advisor to Chief Minister; Mr. Om Prakash, Additional Chief Secretary; Mr. Amit Negi, Secretary Finance; Mr. Amit Kumar Sinha, Director, Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) and Mr. ShaileshBagauli, CEO, Smart City, Dehradun among others.

TheHon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, addressed the inaugural session of the Invest North Summit 2018. In his address Mr. Rawat highlighted the initiatives of the Government of Uttarakhand to promote an investor friendly environment in the Northern State, “We are pleased to attend the Invest North Summit 2018 and receive an encouraging response from the business community in Singapore. Uttarakhand is a young state with robust opportunities across various sectors. Our MSME Policy 2015, Single Window Clearance System and The Mega Industrial and Investment Policy 2015, amongst other initiatives, provide a roadmap to boost the industrial climate and act as a facilitator of commerce for the investors.”

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand along with other delegates at the summit released a CII report on investment climate in the Northern States of India.

The Government of Uttarakhand delegation held meetings with various organizations to highlight the growth opportunities in the dynamic state of Uttarakhand. Some of these organizations include SurbanaJurong, Pvt Ltd, The Golden State Capital Pvt Ltd, AscendasSingbridge, Meinhardt and Asia Competitiveness Institute among others.The delegation also met Singapore Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. VivialBalakrishnan. The delegation also invited potential investors to attend ‘Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit 2018’, to be scheduled in Dehradun on 7 & 8 October, 2018.

The Invest North Summit 2018in Singapore,showcased the potential projects and sectoral opportunities for investment in the Indian States of Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. With adequate natural resources, skilled workforce, enabling investment & policy regime and a strong consumer base backed by increasing income & rapidly developing infrastructure, the region offers investment opportunities across sectors like Electronics, Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services, Tourism, Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure, Energy, Automobiles etc.

With six previous successful editions, Invest North Summit has been a platform for North Indian States to interface with the industry on the specific investment opportunities in the States. The objective of organizing Invest North in Singapore is to engage with overseas investment communities from Singapore. Some of the key features of Invest North Summit 2018 includes Focused State Investment and Business Sessions by the State Governments, which were addressed by their Hon’ble Chief Ministers, Industry Ministers and Senior officials.
