Home Minister appeals people of Kashmir to take part in panchayat polls

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday appealed the people of Kashmir to participate in forthcoming Panchayati elections and stay away from the encounter sites to avoid loss of civilian lives.

Addressing a press conference at Nehru Guest House in Srinagar, Rajnath Singh congratulated the people of State for participating in just concluded municipal elections.Earlier, he reviewed security situation at a high-level meeting in Srinagar.

He said there has been a steady decline in stone pelting incidents and militant recruitment has also gone down. He further said both state and central governments are working towards development of J&K and Ladakh areas. It is our aim to make Jammu & Kashmir a developed state
