Five-member committee of government & industry representative to be constituted: CM Trivendra
A five-member committee comprising representatives of government and industry will be constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary. This committee will resolve various matters between the industry and the state government in a consistent manner as quickly as possible.
Representatives of the CII under the leadership of CII Northern Region President Sachit Jain met the Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at Secretariat on Friday. The representatives of CII invited Uttarakhand to participate in the Investor Summit being organized by the CII in Singapore on August 20 and 21, 2018. Along with this, it was decided that the Uttarakhand will participate in the Agro Tech Conference 2018 being organized by CII in Chandigarh in December.
Chief Minister said that a five member committee of the representatives from government and industry will be constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary. This committee will resolve various matters between the industry and the state government in a consistent manner and will consider increasing the maximum industrial investment in the state. In the meeting discussions were held regarding constitution of a Joint Task Force for Economic and Infrastructure Development under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary. Chief Minister said that the government and industry will have to work together to make the all-round progress of the state. He said that availability of electricity and law and order situation in Uttarakhand is far better than other states.
Efforts are being made to further strengthen air connectivity. The state has abundant natural beauty. This year, along with the devotees, who have came on the Char Dham Yatra, the number of people traveling on the trekking and adventurous tours has increased. By adopting a target based approach, new tourist destinations are being developed by the state government under the 13 District 13 New Destination. New avenues are being explored in the field of tourism. Efforts are been made to strengthen the local economy by developing growth centers at the block level and steps are being taken to prevent migration. There is immense potential of organic farming in the state. Adopting an integrated approach, work on the agriculture development schemes is also being done. To amend the state’s rice export policy, Chief Minister requested the representatives of CII to study the best practices being followed by other states and give suggestions.
CII Northern Region President Sachit Jain said that CII will provide all possible assistance for tourism, biological agricultural development and more and more industrial investment in Uttarakhand state. While appreciating the Investors Summit being organised in the state for the first time by the state government, he said that this initiative would prove to be effective for industrial investment along with the economic development of the state.
