CS Utpal Kumar Singh visits Himalayan Action Research Center
Chief Secretary Mr. Utpal Kumar Singh visited the Himalayan Action Research Center (HARC) Naugaon on Sunday. Chief Secretary also observed the Himalayan Action Research Center (HARC) plant tissue culture lab and soil testing lab. HARC Secretary Mr. Mahendra Singh Kunwar held discussions with the Chief Secretary on the initiative taken by HARC on PCDO (Mother Orchard) of apple in the state, opening the market in the interest of the farmers of the Ravai valley and the machines present in the forest department getting any kind of guarantee from the government. In this regard, instructions have were issued by the Chief Secretary to the District Magistrate.
Chief Secretary appreciated latest efforts of HARC and the leadership of entire team of HARC. He praised the innovative experiment of HARC Naugaon in the agriculture sector. District Magistrate Uttarkashi, Deputy District Magistrate Badkot, General Manager of Sutlej Hydro Project, President of of Ravai Valley Fruit and Vegetable Producer, Jagmohan Singh, Office Secretary and District Official were present on this occasion.
Along with this, Chief Secretary visited remote areas of Tuni, Hataal, Naugaon, etc. During the tour of Lakhamandal, the Chief Secretary gave detailed instructions to the nominated consultant for Dehradun’s selected new destination Lakhamandal. He said that as a part of the decision of the Chief Minister from tourism point of view of developing 13 new destinations in 13 districts of the state, Lakhamandal has been selected in Dehradun.
He inspected the work done under government-run livelihood scheme in Hanol area on the spot. He also held interaction with the farmers. He saw the innovative experiments done in the field of agriculture by a farmer Premchand Sharma in Hataal. During the talks, the demand of drinking water and veterinary hospital in the area was made by the farmers on which the Chief Secretary instructed the concerned officials.
