CS assure traders to solve their GST woes

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh held a meeting with all the stake holders associated with GST. He met and listened to the problems and suggestions of representatives of Industry, Trade associations, Tax Bar Association, Hotel Association, Transporters’ Association, Contractors Association and small traders from towns and cities.   He assured to solve the problems which could be sorted out at the state level. He assured that those issues which could not be solved here will be put in the GST council.

The representatives of industry and trade associations praised the state government for listening to their grievances and assuring to solve them at a meeting at secretariat on Friday. Pankaj Gupta, President of Uttarakhand Industries Association also presented a letter of appreciation to the Chief Secretary. The Chief Secretary instructed that to help traders a helpline or a help desk should be established and their apprehensions should be solved at the local level. Commissioner Trade Tax Saujanya informed that a trader registered with GST gets an insurance cover of Rs. Five lakh each automatically. The GST portal is being made more meaningful.  She assured the traders that their suggestions will be put up in the GST council meeting. Secretary Finance Amit Negi and other officers were present in the meeting.
