CM Rawat inaugurates ‘Atal Setu’ at Mokhampur

 

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated ‘Atal Setu’ (flyover) at Mokhampur on Friday. The 1050 meters long and 18.80 meters wide Road over Bridge (ROB) has been completed two months before the stipulated time.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat had instructed the working agency to complete the flyover on time keeping in view the public convenience. The bridge was estimated to cost Rs.60 crore but was constructed at a cost of Rs.43 crore. The bridge has been named as ‘Atal Setu’ to commemorate the memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee. The bridge will ease traffic congestion. Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said that many extensions were given during the construction of Ballupur and Balliwala flyovers and the width of those flyovers was also reduced. The Chief Minister announced that soon the work on Jogiwala flyover will also start. The reconstruction of a temple affected by the flyover will also be done.

He said that the officials have been instructed to complete the reconstruction of the roads in the state within a month.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that soon a 300 bed hospital for women and newly born children will be constructed at Harrawala. He said that tomorrow, the new Dat Kali tunnel will also be inaugurated which has been completed three months before the stipulated time.

Prem Chand Aggarwal, Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha said that general public will get relief with the construction of the bridge. He thanked the Chief Minister for getting the bridge constructed before the stipulated period and said that his strong will power and sentiments to get the work done has given big relief to the common people.

Harbans Kapoor, Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Khazan Dass, Bharat Chaudhary, all legislators, Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash, departmental head of PWD department R.C. Purohit, Chief engineer of National Highways Hari Om Sharma and public representatives were present on the occasion.
