CM Rawat inaugurated seminar on “Opportunities and Challenges in Water Supply and Sewerage System”

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the a one-day seminar on “Opportunities and Challenges in Water Supply and Sewerage System” organized by the Indian Water Works Association, at Atlantis Club Panditwadi, Dehradun on Sunday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a booklet based on various technical aspects related to the seminar.

Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set a target of delivering water to every house in five years.  Engineers needs to churn that how to reach pure water to every house and how to save water.  Subject experts will share their experiences with each other. It will get good results in future.

The Chief Minister said that there was a need to bring awareness among the people for water conservation. Aggregation of rainwater is the best method of water harvesting. Rain water harvesting needs special attention.
The CM said that the State Government is making efforts to provide gravity based water in most parts of Uttarakhand. construction work of Suryadhar, Song and Muludhung projects are underway. After the construction of the Suryadhar dam, 29 villages will get gravity based drinking water.
