Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat took the holy stick from the courtyard of Haridwar Teerth City to the presidency of the Devi Maya Devi Temple, from the Juna Akhara between the Vedic Law Legislation and the chant of mantras to the four shrines of Uttarakhand –

On Saturday, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat took the holy stick from the courtyard of Haridwar shrine town to the presidency of the Devi Maya Devi temple, from the Juna Akhara between the Vedic rituals and the chanting of mantras to Uttarakhand’s four shrines.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra said that this stick yatra will also promote religious tourism in Uttarakhand. This stick yatra will be supported by the government as much as possible. He said that on the occasion of opening of the Char Dham kapat next year, this stick yatra will be given a more systematic form. The Chief Minister said that with the inauguration of this ‘stick yatra’, the material life goals of our Sanatani society will be fulfilled and this will also increase harmony in the society. He expressed the belief that the common man will become a partaker of the virtuous by worshiping the holy stick during his wand journey and his wishes will be fulfilled.
Chief Minister Shri Trivendra offered prayers to Mahamaya Devi at Maya Devi temple before sending the stick. After offering prayers, Chief Minister Shri Trivendra anointed the holy stick and worshiped it and proceeded to it.
On this occasion, Mahant Hari Giri, National General Secretary of the Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad told that the holy stick from Juna Akhara will go to Yamunotri, Gangotri to Kedarnath and Badrinath. This stick from Badrinath will return to Haridwar Juna Arena through various pilgrimage sites of Kumaon Mandal and will be revered in the temple of Maya Devi. He informed that the tradition of carrying this holy stick from Haridwar is being started for the first time in the four dhams of Uttarakhand. Earlier, this stick originated from Bageshwar Kumaon Mandal for all the four dhams. And for many years this stick trip was off. In view of the Kumbh held in Haridwar in 2021, the path of this stick has been changed. Now this stick will come out of Haridwar and travel to the four dhams and come back to Haridwar.
Mahant Prem Giri, the head of Shri Panch Dasnama Juna Akhada, said that on Saturday, the holy stick left from Mayadevi temple for Rishikesh. After offering prayers at Triveni Ghat, Durga Temple, Dattatreya Temple, Bharat Mandir etc. in Rishikesh, there will be night rest in Mayakund Rishikesh. The journey of Yamunotri from Rishikesh will start from October 13. On the lines of Amarnath, a stick yatra was started from Haridwar to all the four dhams of Uttarakhand which was welcomed by the sages and saints of Haridwar. Mahant Narendra Giri, national president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, said that on the special initiative of the Chief Minister, this stick journey has started again after many years.
