Budget 2020 falls on a Saturday

Remarkably, this year’s budget (2020) falls on a Saturday. Stock exchanges as well as parliament, which are normally shut for business on weekends, will be open on February 1 (Saturday) because of the budget. Banking services could be affected on February 1 as the unions have taken the decision to sit on a two-day bank strike regarding wage-related issues from January 31. Banks are usually open for business on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of every month.

Taxpayers, corporations, tax experts, everyone has some expectations from FM Sitharaman. However, one of the biggest challenges the Modi government 2.0 needs to address urgently is the slowing Indian economy.
