BJP National Council meet begins in New Delhi
A two-day meeting of BJP National Council will begin at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi today.
BJP President Amit Shah will inaugurate the convention. Briefing media in New Delhi, party’s youth wing president Poonam Mahajan said, around 12 thousand delegates from all parts of the country will attend the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the concluding session.
The national council assumes significance in view of the upcoming general elections this year and the meeting will deliberate on the party’s strategy for the polls among other issues. The Narendra Modi government’s social justice plank with its outreach to Dalits, backward classes and the general category is likely to be a key theme at the meeting.
The government’s measures for farmers, various schemes for the welfare of the poor and economic growth will also be discussed. The meeting is expected to pass economic and political resolutions.
