Amit Shah slams Rahul over Congress’ poor track record

BJP Chief Amit Shah slams Congress President Rahul Gandhi over Congress’ poor track record; Says, NDA government has placed India in a more respectful position before the world.

BJP President Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his party’s performance in 55 years and questioned him for seeking an account of the work done by the BJP-led government in the last four years.

He was addressing a BJP rally in Ambikapur Chhattisgarh held as part of BJP’s Vikas Yatra.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Arun Jaitley has questioned Congress party’s hue and cry, after govt referred a case back for reconsideration on appointment of judges.

To show Congress the mirror, Arun Jaitley, through a facebook blog, shared a series of essays written by various authors on Appointment of Judges to the Supreme Court. Jailtey gave an example of Justice Bachu Jagan-nadha Das, who in his view, made it to the Supreme Court because of his strong Congress Party connections during Nehruvian era.

Arun Jaitley said that such political recommendations are today unthinkable. And giving example from Indira Gandhi era, Arun jaitley said that an important turn in the judicial appointments history was the decision of the Prime Minister to appoint ideologically committed Law Ministers so that judicial appointments could be influenced by the social and political philosophy of the judge.

The duo of Law Minister H.R. Gokhale and the Steel and Mines Minister Mohan Kumara-Mangalam took charge, and their priority was the need to reverse the decision of the Supreme Court in Golaknath case. Jaitley said that he has written this blog so that Congress party gets an opportunity to look at the mirror.
